Volunteers at SIQA

             Nine volunteers from Romania are  involved at the moment in Intergenerational exchange- Pay it forward! project by Millennium Center Association, the coordinating and sending organization.

            The project will be implemented within 1st of February 2012 and 1st of February 2013 and during this period a total number of 18 EVS volunteers will be sent in voluntary stages in stages of 3 and 4 months length.

Project Description:
Intergenerational Exchange - Pay it Forward! is meant to provoke and follow the complementary themes of intergenerational exchange and development cooperation by fostering the development of bridges between time as referred to human beings belonging to different generations. The main idea of the project is represented by the act of exchange as a form of evolution and development of both individuals and local communities supported by the implementation of methods such as Barcamp and Time banking combined with other non-formal education tools and instruments.

The objectives of the project are the following:
1. Transfer of skills between the generations involved in relation to at least 5 subjects of interest from different field for both sides: social, cultural, historical, artistic, sportive, educational, information technology etc. during the stages.
2. Exchange information, ideas, opinions, knowledge on at least 10 common interest issues between the participants involved from all generations during the voluntary stages.
